A virtual event was held for Small- and Medium-Sized Practices (SMPs)

The EU Twining project “Enhancing Accounting and Audit Quality in Georgia” , with support of SARAS and PAOs, arranged a virtual event for the SMPs operating in Georgia. 

Apostolos Polyzos (Vice-President of the Supervisory Board at the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Greece (S.O.E.L)) and Dimitrios Drakos (Consultant to the Board of Directors at SOL Crowe) made presentations. They discussed the following issues:

• Audit profession in Greece – basics of regulation, accountants’ vs auditors’ registers, registration requirements, structure and activities of PAO, overview of the professional services market.

• Merger as a way to improve SMP performance – historical overview of the case, main challenges, corporate structure and the charter. 

The audience was able to ask questions.
